The name of the game is called “shutter” (or whatever you want to call it.)
The main objective of the game is to escape the building via the first floor (so it’s best to play this game in an area like our school, or something like that)
However, the only way to get down to the first floor is through the shutters-but they’re all locked; players, therefore, have to find the key from the key master (who is hiding).
It is therefore the role of the game masters (you decide who they are) to stop the groups from finding the key master. These game masters have the power to torture “slow down” the groups (you can decide whatever punishment “games” you want the penalty teams to do). Oh, and the groups are unable to move in the light. When they are in the light, you, as the game master, can “slow them down” again. You get to decide whatever you want to do to them :D
-turn on the lights in that area to “trap” groups or use your flashlight to shine on them to slow them down. (Use your creativity for this)
-however, as the time runs out, (you have a time limit, you can’t be playing forever right?) use the lights to direct groups to the key master (you’ll need critical thinking for this)
-tip: you don’t release the key till about ¾ of the time is up. This is to ensure some groups don’t wait like 2hrs for the others to finish.
You have to plan this game carefully, because it needs loads of co-ordination for it to work.
Things you need:
1. Flashlight for all the game masters.
2. Rope to tie the player’s hands together
3.walkie-talkies for co-ordination
4.fake keys and one real key to open the shutter
Oh, and just a note. Group leaders CANNOT separate from their group members. You can
“punish” those groups who are moving around without their group leader.
How to go about the game:
1. Game-play starts during the night (like seriously night-time)
2. Get groups to sleep early so they have energy to play the game
3. Wake everyone up at the appropriate time and get them in their groups.
4. Since you decide their group leaders, quickly tie them up and give them a brief introduction about the game
-best is to just tell them: “you’re stuck in this building, get down to the first floor” and get them to start. Ignore any questions they ask. Reveal more about what they are supposed to do during the game. (this is the best case scenario, but you can do what you like).
5. Get the key master to hide and the game masters follow the plan to keep groups away from the key master
6. As the game progresses, slowly ‘hint’ to groups that they have to get a key from one of the game masters (key master)
7. Continue to use your flashlight to get teams to move the way you want them to, or just for fun: D
8. When you deem appropriate, start to get teams to move toward the key master.
9. As there is probably only one key, get groups to return the keys to the key master if the key is wrong/correct
i. Either way, if the key is wrong, they have to return the key to the key master anyway. Tag behind each group that has a key at a safe distance, if their key is correct; ask the leader to return the key immediately.
Tip: you can hide the real key till you want groups to complete the game.
That should be about all there is. It may sound easy, but it is actually loads harder when you’re actually playing it.
Well, as for the ice-breaker games:
-you can play the classic ice-breaker games.
There’s one called “animal sounds”.
-you go around telling everyone a certain animal sound to make (eg. Pig=oink, cow=moo, dog=woof). Be sure you don’t let the others hear you.
-blindfold everyone and start the game:
Objectives of this game-find the group (your group) that makes the same sound as you. (Eg. All the oink oinks will gather together and that’s their grouping for all the games. You decide the groupings of course)
Spoiler: you can have some people (your game masters) shouting random things like “cuckoo!” or “television!” to confuse the people playing.
You.. Can also play whacko. Or double/reverse whacko. You know what whacko is right? Simply put, you get someone to be in the centre with a newspaper roll (or something like that) and the rest of the people gather in a circle around that person. They then start calling out each other’s names and the person in the centre has to go around “catching” the person whose name has been called.
Reverse whacko, it’s the same, except you call the person’s name backwards :D
Double whacko, it’s the same except there are two rows instead, one inner row and one outer row. The outer row is the one shouting the name, and the inner row just sits there and waits to be whacked-they can’t do anything, lols. As the game progresses, you swap the inner row with the outer row la duh.
You can also play whacko using Chinese names (if everyone has a Chinese name lar)
These are all the games i can think of thus far. Hope it helps :D
